About This Tour

Southern Cappadocia, the part almost nobody sees on a first trip. We start with the panoramic view of Ortahisar, one of the most authentic villages in the region, and continue to Mustafapaşa — the old Greek town of Sinasos — with its houses of carved stone and 19th-century architecture.

We visit Keşlik Monastery, a hidden complex that still has its frescoes, and walk at a relaxed pace through Soğanlı Valley, a green canyon dotted with rock-cut churches that feels like an oasis in the middle of the plateau. After lunch we head down into the Kaymaklı Underground City: four thousand years of history underground, the largest rock-cut refuge in the area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We finish in Pigeon Valley, among dovecotes carved into the rock and trees hung with blue evil-eye charms, with a demonstration of local crafts.
