One of the biggest decisions when planning your trip to Türkiye is choosing between a private tour and a group tour with fixed departure dates. Both have clear advantages, and the right choice depends on your priorities. A word of transparency first: the tours I offer are private; group departures run only when I announce them explicitly on this site, with their dates.
Private tour: your trip, your rules
Advantages
- Total flexibility: itinerary, timings and pace tailored to you.
- Personalisation: special interests (food, archaeology, photography) woven into the route.
- Privacy: just you and your party, with a guide of your own.
- A better experience: extra stops, local restaurants instead of tourist buffets, carefully chosen hotels.
- Room for the unexpected: if it rains, or you discover something that fascinates you, we change the plan.
Who it suits
Couples, families with children, groups of friends, discerning travellers, honeymooners and travellers with reduced mobility.
Rough price
As a rough guide, from €150–250 per person per day (guide, private transport, hotel and entrance tickets included). The price per person drops considerably for groups of 3–6 people.
Group tour (fixed departures): sociable and affordable
Advantages
- Lower price: costs are shared with other travellers.
- Social: you meet fellow travellers.
- Fixed dates: you know exactly when the tour starts and ends.
- Everything organised: zero stress, just enjoy.
Who it suits
Solo travellers who'd rather not travel alone, tight budgets and people who enjoy meeting others.
Rough price
From around €90–150 per person per day, all-inclusive.

Private Tour or Group Tour: Which Is Right for You?
This is one of the questions I'm asked most often. The answer depends on your budget, your travel style and your expectations. Here's an honest comparison of the real advantages of each option.
Private Tour
- Total flexibility: you decide the start time, the pace, the stops and any last-minute changes. If you love a place, you stay longer. If something doesn't interest you, we skip it.
- Personalisation: the itinerary is designed around your interests (history, food, photography, shopping, nature). There's no fixed programme.
- Privacy: only your party — no strangers, no waiting around, no compromises.
- Places big groups don't go: I can take you to craft workshops, neighbourhood restaurants and little-known viewpoints.
- Price: more expensive per person (from around €150 per person per day for parties of 4 or more, more for 1–2 people), but the value for money is unmatched.
Group Tour (Fixed Departures)
- Lower price: with costs split between 8–14 people, the price per person drops significantly.
- Social: you meet other travellers. Ideal if you're travelling alone and want company.
- Everything organised: fixed dates, hotel included, transport sorted. All you have to do is turn up at the airport.
- Less flexibility: fixed timings, set stops, the group's pace. No room to improvise.
- Bigger groups: however small the group, it will always feel busier than a private tour.
My Recommendation?
If your budget allows, a private tour always offers a better experience — which is why private tours are what I offer. Group departures can be a good option for solo travellers, tight budgets or anyone who'd rather not plan anything; when I run one, it's announced explicitly on this site with its dates. If none is announced, tell me about your trip anyway: a private tour for two, or with a shorter guided section, often costs less than people expect.
